January is here and so is the bitter cold weather. There are many activities planned not only here at the Home, but also places in the Capital Region.
The Residents will take a trip to Big Lots, Mohawk Commons, the Dollar Tree and Via Port. They can shop, chat and just enjoy a ride.
The Residents love music, singing and entertainment. Tony will delight the Residents with his musical talents.
Staying active both mentally and physically are so important. Many healthy activities for their mind and body are planned. Several of the special activities are: Currant Affairs, trivia and an assortment of other games are being offered this month to help keep their minds active. Bingo is always a favorite activity! Chair exercise, Tai Chi and Chair Yoga help to keep their bodies moving. A few new programs have been added, the Knitting and Crocheting Club, Dice 5,000, Gin Rummy and the Button Club. Special programs this month are a Hot Coco Social, the monthly Birthday celebration and a Winter Tea Social. Hot Coco seems like the perfect way to stay warm and visit with each other. The fancy teacups and fine china enhance the tea social.
Several spiritual programs are offered. There is a Prayer Program on Sunday and the Rosary is prayed. Also, communion is offered for two times this month. There is a Devotional Program too. All are welcome to join in.
We are truly grateful and blessed to have the Residents here and to provide a safe, happy and healthy place for them to live. Also, the Staff and Residents are thankful to the families for all of their support. We wish you a happy New Year!
